Printing with Lace
Here are two of my most recent letterpress prints. I began the first two layers of these broadsides at the Curmudgeon Press under the direction of Erin Beckloff at Miami University. The first light blue layer was created using a solid plexiglass sheet. The second layer is lace adhered to a wood surface brought to type high. The final layer I printed on my own Vandercook 4t using vintage Gothic and Bodoni Bold wood type and wood ornaments from Moore Wood Type. This was the first time I used oil based ink. I was really happy with how the lace printed, thanks to my sister who cut a piece off of her lace table runner. Thanks Sis!
